All Saints’ Episcopal Church We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally through Jesus Christ THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS: From the Rector: The hot days of summer continue as we begin to think about fall and students returning to PC. We are only four weeks away from students coming back to campus. We look forward to a vibrant fall with many opportunities for ministry. Early in September, All Saints’ will have a Sunday focused on sharing all the ways we minister to our church and our community. It will also be a Sunday where we ask you to think about your place here and what you offer to the ministry of Christ, whether as a minister on Sundays or pastoral care or on vestry or to PC or … the possibilities are endless. I hope you will continue to pray about how and what you can do and offer to our common life. Please also be here Sunday by Sunday as an act of stewardship as we continue to seek out God’s will and work. Also note in upcoming events we are highlighting community events, including shag lessons we are offering here at All Saints’ that will run 4 consecutive Thursdays beginning August 30th. Any one is invited to participate – we’re also inviting PC students to join. Please call or email the office if you’d like to sign up. Alicia and I are – please join us! ALL SAINTS’ NEWS: COFFEE HOUR CHANGES: Please remember coffee hour is not hosted each Sunday during the summer. However, we do need volunteers willing to make coffee and lemonade each week. We also need donations of cookies, muffins, coffee cake or doughnuts weekly. If you’d like to buy or bake, please bring them to the church and put in the pantry or freezer. We will be asking for summer coffee volunteers – consider helping when you’re available. THE NURSERY is now available for those who wish to use it. Please sign up in the back of the church if you are willing to volunteer to keep the nursery. THE FIRST SUNDAY OUTREACH OFFERING is taken up at the close of the service on the first Sunday of each month. The August offering will benefit the Laurens County Humane Society. UNITED MINISTRIES FOOD BASKETS: Nonperishable food will be received at the church at any time. This food will be presented at the altar on the second Sunday of each month. Please remember to bring nonperishable foods to fill the baskets! SINGING ROOSTER FAIR-TRADE COFFEE FROM HAITI is available through the church as a way of supporting our diocesan mission in Cange. An order sheet is placed in the church and in the parish hall. Buy some for yourself—and some to give as gifts! All proceeds go to the farmers who grow the coffee in Haiti. GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS are always available upon request. Let the priest know before the service or at the communion rail. Comments are closed.
