We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally through Jesus Christ THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS: From the Rector: Good morning, Can you believe it is already August? The busyness of our lives is heading into full swing. Please keep up with the calendar online as we will be placing all events scheduled for our parish on it. A few dates to remember are Monday, August 14th at 4:00 pm when the Altar Guild will gather in the church and that same day at 5:00 pm, the Pastoral Care Committee will meet in the kitchen. On August 23rd at 6:00 pm, we will have a Lay Ministries training event and supper. This will be a time for acolytes, ushers, lectors, intercessors, and chalice bearers to come together. If you are interested in joining any of these ministries, you are also invited to attend. Also, PC Sunday is scheduled for September 17th. Rachel Parsons- Wells, Director of Religious Life & Services will be our guest preacher. We look forward to having Rachel join us for this important day. I have also met with Paul Abernathy from The Church of the Nativity in Laurens. We have planned Wednesday evenings beginning November 29th through the season of Advent. We will alternate locations and preachers each week with Evening Prayer at 6:00 pm followed by a covered dish supper. I have talked to the bishop and we are planning a Celebration of New Ministry for us. The date is yet to be determined, but we will make sure to announce it as soon as we can. We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally through Jesus Christ THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS: From the Rector: In the midst of summer, we begin to look ahead to the fall and the new school year. In less than a month, students will be moving into PC which will begin some new work for us. Our new committee structure brings about some changes. For example, what has been known as the Hospitality committee will now be known as the Pastoral Care committee. Its work will be to reach out to those in our parish who might be in need. Marlene Halbert has graciously agreed to lead this committee. She is currently in the process of developing teams to call on members when they have a need by visiting and dropping off a meal. We already have a wonderful group of members who are always eager to help when they are called upon but all are invited to be a part of this ministry. Marlene is planning fun ways to prepare for receptions and meals and doesn’t want anyone to miss out on the fun! Please call Marlene at 864-683-3434 or 864-906-2344 if you’d like to be part of a team. But new work will begin in all areas. I plan to meet with each committee as we begin. We want your ideas, your hopes and dreams; where you see God moving in our common life and how we might be bolder in proclaiming God’s love in word and deed. Looking ahead, we are scheduling a time for all those who serve on Sunday mornings to come together. On August 23rd at 6:00 pm, we will have a Lay Ministries training event. this will be a time for acolytes, ushers, lectors, intercessors, and chalice bearers to come together. All Saints’ Episcopal Church We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally through Jesus Christ THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS: From the Rector: Good morning, This week we introduce new tools for administration at All Saints. Our new software for church membership, finance and accounting is beginning to be used. This will allow us to communicate more effectively and will also allow you to access your information throughout the year. I want to thank the vestry for their work to gather the information we need to begin this new system. We are also changing our email system. We have two new email addresses which have now gone online. Please change your address book to reflect these new emails. The old email address will not be used. I will have access to it for the next 30 days to help with transition but after August 15 any emails sent to that address will be unable to be recovered. New email addresses: [email protected] [email protected] If you see anything on our website or other material which does not reflect these changes, please let us know. As our new committees begin to function, I am excited about the possibilities of new ministries which will not only shape us but will affect the proclamation of the Gospel. Please find your place as we begin this work and as we look to the fall with new anticipation for what will be. Thanks you again for allowing me to serve.
