We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally through Jesus Christ THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS From the Rector: As we come to the second Sunday in Advent, the gospel gives us the powerful image of John the Baptist as he comes out of the wilderness. His words are meant to challenge. “The one who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to stoop down and untie the thong of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” Mark 1: 7-8 This season of expectation is about being prepared to meet God. Get ready. Stay awake. Prepare to meet your Savior. This Wednesday, December 6th, we will have Evening Prayer at 6:00 pm followed by supper in the parish hall at Church of the Epiphany, Laurens. I will be preaching this week. These four Wednesdays in Advent are important in our corporate life as we prepare for the Incarnation. Please come. Also, I encourage you to bring a friend and make this holy time of anticipation special. This Sunday we continue our series on Advent during Christian formation. We are looking at the theological and liturgical meanings of the season. To be better prepared, I encourage you to read the first chapter of Luke beforehand.
