NEWS AND COMING EVENTS: 
 
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER will be held in the Parish Hall on December 18 at 5:00 pm.  Sign up at church to bring your favorite entrée, salad, veggie, bread, or dessert to share!
 
64th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE will be held at 10:00 pm on December 24th.  No service will be held on Sunday, December 25th (Christmas Day).  No incense will be used this year at the Christmas Eve service in consideration of those who have allergies.  This will be Fr. Morgan’s last service at All Saints’.
 
UPDATE FROM THE SEARCH COMMITTEE:  Last week the Search Committee met with the Rev’d Canon d’Rue Hazel, Transition Minister for the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, to receive the names of approved applicants for the position of Rector of All Saints’.  Since then, Chairwoman Janet Roberts has set up interview appointments with all the applicants.  Confidentiality requirements prevent answering any further questions at this time.  Please pray God’s guidance for the work of the Committee and for the candidates, some of whom have also applied to other parishes.
 
ADULT FORUM will re-convene after the New Year as announced.

WE WILL SAY A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR DISCERNMENT during the Prayers of the People in the Sunday service.  We will pray for God to show us what he wants us to do and be in the Clinton/Laurens County community.  Please pray for discernment in your daily prayers as well.
 
SINGING ROOSTER FAIR-TRADE COFFEE FROM HAITI  is available through the church as a way of supporting our diocesan mission in Cange.  An order sheet is placed in the church and in the parish hall.  Buy some for yourself—and some to give as Christmas gifts!  All proceeds go to the farmers who grow the coffee in Haiti.
 
GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS are always available upon request.  Let Fr. Morgan know before the service or at the communion rail.

Bostic is the home of the Bostic Lincoln Center, a NC Blue Ridge Heritage Historical Site.  History buffs should look it up online.  There is considerable evidence to support the claim that U.S. President Abraham Lincoln—the “Great Emancipator”—was actually born near Bostic, at a place known as Lincoln Hill, and moved west to Kentucky as an infant with his mother Nancy Hanks and her husband Tom Lincoln.  The story, which is presented in detail at the Lincoln Center—and on their website—is fascinating and intriguing!
