All Saints’ Episcopal Church
We welcome, serve and love all unconditionally
through Jesus Christ

THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS:

From the Rector:

The business of the school year begins this week and with it we begin to look to Fall. September 9th will be a wonderful opportunity to look at the ministries of All Saints’ and find your place in them.  We will have a ministry fair that Sunday.   It will be an opportunity to see all the ways All Saints’ seeks to live out God’s call in this place.  The following Sunday, September 16th, we will begin our Adult formation class at 9:30 am.   The first PC home football game is Saturday, September 15th and we will begin “Episcopal Tailgating”.

We are also having shag lessons, Film & Theology events and the Blessing of Animals coming in the following weeks.  More specific information will be communicated about these events.  These will be wonderful opportunities to introduce friends to All Saints’.

All Saints has many gifts.  We need to continue to seek to live out our mission with those gifts.  Our call to welcome in the name of Christ is our imperative.  We can only do it by seeking God and sharing God.

 ALL SAINTS’ NEWS:

*SERMONS are now available on the website.  Each week they are uploaded along with a copy of the Newsbytes.  You’ll find the tab for each at the top of the home page.

PARISH DIRECTORIES are available on the back table in the church.  Please take one and doublecheck your own information for accuracy.

*COFFEE HOUR CHANGES:  Only 2 weeks left for our summer coffee hour.  However, we do need volunteers willing to make coffee and lemonade and to set out goodies.  Clean up volunteers are needed as well.  We need more cookies, muffins or doughnuts for the next few weeks.  If you’d like to buy or bake, please bring them to the church and put in the pantry or freezer.

*THE NURSERY is now available for those who wish to use it.  We are assigning volunteers on a monthly rotation throughout the year.  Please consider volunteering – safe church training is required.  Information regarding training dates and sites can be found on the diocesan website – www.edusc.org

THE FIRST SUNDAY OUTREACH OFFERING is taken up at the close of the service on the first Sunday of each month.  September’s offering goes to Good Shepherd Free Medical Clinic.

UNITED MINISTRIES FOOD BASKETS:   Nonperishable food will be received at the church at any time. This food will be presented at the altar on the second Sunday of each month. Please remember to bring nonperishable foods to fill the baskets!

SINGING ROOSTER FAIR-TRADE COFFEE FROM HAITI is available through the church as a way of supporting our diocesan mission in Cange.  An order sheet is placed in the church and in the parish hall.  Buy some for yourself—and some to give as gifts!   All proceeds go to the farmers who grow the coffee in Haiti.

GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS are always available upon request.  Let the priest know before the service or at the communion rail.
