Rev. Rilla Holmes called to All Saints

8/1/2024

All Saints Episcopal Church, Clinton, calls the Rev. Rilla Holmes to serve as its next Rector.

Rilla Holmes grew up as a cradle Episcopalian in the Diocese of Alabama, at Grace Church. After her ordination in 1999, she served as Curate at St. Mark's, Mystic, Connecticut.  In 2002, Rilla and her family moved down from the Diocese of Connecticut to settle in the Diocese of Upper South Carolina.

In the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, she served seven years at Trinity, Abbeville as Priest-in-charge.  After that followed many years of supply work, including work on the Commission on Congregations, the Commission of Christian Formation and its Committee for Canterbury Ministries.  She taught Spiritual Formation in the Diocesan School for Ministry and has served as Spiritual Director and mentor for several people in their discernment of holy orders. Most recently, she completed her service as Priest-in-charge at Saint Mark’s, Chester.

Rilla and husband Akil have one son, Vijay. Rilla is excited about the possibilities that await in a shared ministry with the people of All Saints in Clinton.
