THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS:

 From the Rector:

Thank you to all who helped make our first Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (in a long time) a great success!  Between members, friends, PC students, and members of the community, we had around 70 people enjoy pancakes, sausage and bacon, and baked apples.   A great time was had by all.

During the season of Lent, we will be offering weekly Evening Prayer services followed by a light supper shared with Epiphany in Laurens as well as two Film & Theology series events. We begin on Wednesday, Feb. 21st at All Saints at 6:00 pm.  The Rev. Paul Abernathy will preach.  A full schedule is located in “Upcoming Events.”  The first Film & Theology event is this Sunday, February 25th at 5:00 pm followed by a chili supper and discussion.  The film is Cool Hand Luke.  Please make time for this event and bring a friend.

THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS:

 From the Rector:

There are many remarkable things happening as we enter into Lent.  First off, Happy Mardi Gras!  Today is Shrove Tuesday and we are gearing up for our Pancake Supper this evening at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall.  Please come and bring a friend.  Tomorrow our first Ash Wednesday service will be in partnership with Canterbury ministries on the campus of PC (outside in the back of Neville Hall, weather permitting).  The service at All Saints takes place at 6:00 pm.

During the season of Lent, we will be offering two Film and Theology series events as well as weekly Evening Prayer services followed by a light supper shared with Epiphany in Laurens.  We begin on Wednesday, Feb. 21st at All Saints at 6:00 pm.  A full schedule is located in “Upcoming Events.”  The first Film and Theology event is Sunday, February 25th at 5:00 pm followed by a chili supper and discussion.  The film is “Cool Hand Luke”.  Please make time for this event and bring a friend.

Lastly, a reminder we are now offering nursery during the 10:30 am service for anyone who’d like to use it.  Although children are always welcome in church, this gives families an option.  Let me know if you’d like to volunteer for this ministry.  We also have set up a “Valentine’s Day Gifts for the Nursery” table in the parish hall.  Please take a labeled valentine and bring the gift to help upgrade the nursery.  Any monetary gift is also appreciated.

THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS:

 From the Rector:

We are looking forward to having a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on February 13th at 6:00 pm in the parish hall.  We are anticipating a large group and therefore requesting many hands to help.  Thank you to all who have already signed up to help with set-up, cooking and clean-up.   If others would like to still join in, please call the church office or email Neal Prater at nbprater@charter.net

Also, just a reminder that this year our bishop’s visit to All Saints will be on Palm Sunday, March 25th.   Our formation class, “The Episcopal Church…..what is it?” will be both an opportunity for us to learn about our denomination as well as prepare anyone who would like to be baptized, confirmed or reaffirm  baptismal vows. Please let me know if you are interested any of these opportunities.
