NEWS AND COMING EVENTS:
 
SHROVE TUESDAY: We have been invited by St. John’s Lutheran to enjoy Pancakes this Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 5 – 7 pm at St. John’s, Clinton.
 
WEDNESDAY  LENTEN  SUPPERS:   We will be joining Epiphany Church in Laurens along with invitations to our Lutheran friends at St. John’s Clinton and Atonement in Laurens to share a light supper, African Bible study focusing on the Lenten gospel texts, and conclude with Compline.
These suppers will be hosted by us on March 8 and March 22 and by Epiphany on March 15, 29, and April 5. We will meet from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Please mark your calendars and join in this Lenten study and fellowship.
 
THE FIRST SUNDAY OUTREACH OFFERING  is taken up at the close of the service on the first Sunday of each month. The March offering will benefit United Ministries of Clinton.
 
UNITED MINISTRIES FOOD BASKETS:   Nonperishable food will be received at the church at any time. This food will be presented at the altar on the second Sunday of each month. Please remember to bring nonperishable foods to fill the baskets!
 
UPDATE FROM  THE VESTRY:   The Rev. James Nichols will be our Supply Priest in February and March.  You may remember that he was with us last June.  We welcome him back as we continue this transition time until we call our new Rector.
 
 
SEARCH COMMITTEE MEMBERS are Janet Roberts (Chair), Forrest Adair, Marlene Halbert, Cindy Perry, Charles Rains, Oliver Roosevelt, Le Ann Watson, and Neal Prater (Vestry Liaison).
Please keep them in your prayers!
 
UPDATE FROM THE SEARCH COMMITTEE:  The Search Committee has met with the Rev. Canon d’Rue Hazel, Transition Minister for the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, to receive the names of approved applicants for the position of Rector of All Saints’.  Since then, Chairwoman Janet Roberts has set up interview appointments with all the applicants.  Confidentiality requirements prevent answering any further questions at this time.  Please pray God’s guidance for the work of the Committee and for the candidates, some of whom have also applied to other parishes.
 
ADULT FORUM will re-convene on Sunday, March 12 at 9:30. We will meet in the Parish Hall around the piano to continue our series on Hymns of the Church Year.  Cindy Perry and Sam Wilson will present: Hymns of Lent and Easter.
 
WE WILL SAY A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR DISCERNMENT during the Prayers of the People in the Sunday service.  We will pray for God to show us what he wants us to do and be in the Clinton/Laurens County community.  Please pray for discernment in your daily prayers as well.
 
 
 
SINGING ROOSTER FAIR-TRADE COFFEE FROM HAITI  is available through the church as a way of supporting our diocesan mission in Cange.  An order sheet is placed in the church and in the parish hall.  Buy some for yourself—and some to give as gifts!  All proceeds go to the farmers who grow the coffee in Haiti.
 
GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION WAFERS are always available upon request.  Let the priest know before the service or at the communion rail.
