VESTRY MEETING: The Vestry will meet Wednesday, January 11 at 7:00 pm.

UPDATE FROM  THE VESTRY:   The Rev. B. Wayne Kinyon will be our Supply Priest in January.  We welcome him as we begin this transition time until we call our new Rector.

The Rev. Wayne Kinyon graduated from Oak Ridge High School, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, attended Swarthmore College, graduated from Duke University, and received his M.Div. from Sewanee.

He has served churches and chaplaincies in Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and South Carolina.

He came to Columbia in 1999 as the first full-time chaplain at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community.  Retiring from Still Hopes in the summer of 2006, he next served as the part-time Priest-in-Charge of Epiphany Episcopal Church in Laurens, S.C. for over three years.  Retiring from Epiphany, he was asked to do some services at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church near Eastover, S.C.  Those few services turned into six years, retiring from there this past May.   He can claim to be good at retiring, having done that four times now. However, as he said, he keeps flunking retirement!  We are pleased that he is again serving as a supply priest.

He and his wife (a church organist) reside near Irmo.   His five children and their families (seven grandchildren) are scattered around the country (Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Idaho).

UPDATE FROM THE SEARCH COMMITTEE:  The Search Committee met with the Rev’d Canon d’Rue Hazel, Transition Minister for the Diocese of Upper South Carolina, to receive the names of approved applicants for the position of Rector of All Saints’.  Since then, Chairwoman Janet Roberts has set up interview appointments with all the applicants.  Confidentiality requirements prevent answering any further questions at this time.  Please pray for God’s guidance for the work of the Committee and for the candidates, some of whom have also applied to other parishes.
